Forrest Flower Mushroom

This flower mushroom was discovered as we walked around the lake for the second time today. It should make a delicious addition to tonight's dinner.

Another glorious sunrise.

As the sun begins to rise.

Turkey Time and Not Thanksgiving - Plus the Big Bad Wolf

These two may very well hold the "last ones in the lake 2023" title.

Thanks to Annie working in the lookout office, she spotted the Big Bad Wolf. I believe this is the first spotting this year. Way to go Annie!

Boo!

Good Morning September

The September sunrise is now farther to the right.

The June sunrise is farther to the left at Fisherman Cove. Looks like the raft has a new position too.

Once in a Blue Moon

Blue Moon
A Blue Moon is typically defined as the third full moon in a season that has four full moons, although the term is sometimes also used to refer to a second full moon in a single month.

Arrived back at my Happy Place.

Barbie Car in Bloominton

Heading to the airport to fetch GAB. Filling up the gas tank in Bloomington we spotted this Bsrbie car. The seasoned driver explained that he chose this paint color back in 1990.

Tragedy - Single Parenting At Lake Betty

Sadly this Mother Goose or Father Goose appears to have lost a partner. Previously this season, there have been 2 families of geese. It is always remarkable to me how diligent the parents are in raising their little goslings. One parent takes the lead while the other always brings up the rear. Now there must have been a catastrophe and now only one solo parent is left to manage all alone.

Goosey Goosey Gander Family at swim practice June 16th. Note the attentive adults.

Around 3PM this afternoon as I sat in my brown chair, there he was - Peeping Tom. It must be the same one that left calling cards in front of each of the doors last Thursday. Oddly, for a better view into the house that darn Peeper must have perched on my Hosta by the Hummer feeder. (smashed leaves in case you are wondering how I knew) Actually, from the calling cards it must be Mrs. Peeping Tom. Is this also a solo bird or a scout, and soon the entire gang will be peering in all of my windows? Has my privacy come to an end?

A Bapa-inspired dinner.

Hunting For Fog Spiders Today

That's not smoke today but real fog. Ideal opportunity for hunting Fog Spiders.

The other side of the lake is missing. A chilly early morning temp is 41 degrees Fahrenheit.

Interesting tidbit: This temperature scale is named after Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit (1686–1736), a German physicist. But why do Americans still use the Fahrenheit scale and not Celsius like the rest of the world?

Lund boat waiting for Bob.

Quick! Get your ducks in a row! But silly they are goslings. Now the two families have joined forces and seem to have found safety by Bob's boat.

While shooting the gaggle, look who swims past. Scouts and I surely hope they do not like what they see.

Smoke From Canadian Wildfires Drifting Into Minnesota

See, smell, and taste the smoke.

Smokey gray skies. Eery red sun was not captured in the shot above.
